Mission
The goal of the art program at PAC is to nurture students' artistic capabilities through teaching organized and differentiated lessons that incorporate art history, culture, and process. It is essential that students experience art in order to understand and appreciate it. The art program at PAC will help develop student's creative sides through material manipulation, conceptual thinking, and planning skills. Students' interests and needs are essential in planning and promoting creative lessons and activities. Classes are designed to help each child progress at his or her own pace through encouragement and instruction appropriate to the child's level of artistic development. Each child is unlimited in building his or her own expressive work using various art media.
Kids Crafts around the World- Grades 1-5
Travel around the world as we learn about different countries and cultures through their crafting traditions. In this class, students will create a craft for every country that they visit. Students will also make a scrapbook album for the photos and notes that they have collected on their travels. Have fun creating sculptural and imaginative art projects made from numerous art materials like clay, paper, cardboard, paint, chalk, etc. Africa, North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia are a few of the places that we will be visiting on our journey.
Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists- Grades 1-5
Students will be introduced to different artists and their works. Each project will be based on an individual artist's technique and style. Students will use a variety of artistic tools and materials to create their own masterpiece. Learning about the master artists will help students understand their specialties in paint, sculpture, fabric, design, etc. Kandinsky, Warhol, Picasso, O'Keeffe, and Matisse are just a few of the artists we will be studying.
