Basketball


About the Program

"Basketball is not just a sport. . . it's about life."

Coach J focuses on:

  • Fundamentals: His philosophy is you must learn to crawl before you can walk. He emphasizes proper techniques of shooting, passing, dribbling, ball-handling, rebounding, defense and creating your own shot.
  • Injury prevention: Keeping each athlete healthy by teaching correct techniques in running, jumping, landing, cutting and balance training.

Program Description

  • Introduction to Basketball: Emphasis is on fun and fundamentals. Learn how to "crawl before you can walk".
  • Basketball Leagues: Players come to the first time slot for each grade level for a coaches evaluation period. Equal teams are made for competitive games.
  • Advanced Basketball: More emphasis is placed on defensive techniques, attacking the basket, movement without the ball, game-like situations, and yet still focusing on the fundamentals of the game.
  • Skills and Drills: J's one-of-a-kind basketball instruction for kids of all ages.
